There there are lots of programs through which you can gain entry into Canada. However, your reason for trying to immigrate to Canada is what will determine which program you will place your application through.

Express Entry is one of the fastest ways to immigrate into Canada. Applicants under this program are selected based on their level of education, language skills, work experience, age and employment offer.

 

Applicants are selected based on the highest number of points. The points are calculated through a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

If an applicant has a CRS score that is higher than the cut-off mark, such a person will be honoured with an Invitation To Application (ITA).

An employment offer is not mandatory for Express Entry, but it improves the CRS score and increases the chances of being selected. Express Entry also has 3 economic subclass immigration programs. They include:

• Create a profile (under Express Entry) for the documents you will upload.
• Get your Language test results. This should be proof of English proficiency. French is also spoken in some parts of Canada.
• Get your travel passport and other documents.
• Provide your educational assessment report.
• You should provide evidence of an employment offer from an employer in Canada. This is if you have been offered a job. If not, please skip.
• You should tender your proof of work experience or a certificate of qualification in a particular occupation.

After uploading all documents, paying the Required fees and submitting, your profile will be added to several others. Selection will be based on the hierarchy of scores. You will also be granted 3 months to apply for Canada permanent residency.

The Provincial Nominee Program is basically for applicants that wish to stay at one specific territory or Province in Canada. These candidates must possess a level of education, work experience and skills that can improve the labour market of that territory or province. 

Each Province has its own immigration programs that target specific candidates. It may be students or experienced workers, and such programs are called “streams“.

For the paper-based application, you won’t need Express Entry. Just submit a form to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Also Family Class Immigration, Family Class Sponsorship is when an already existing Canadian national or permanent resident wants to sponsor his/her family and help them migrate to Canada.

The Sponsor must be at least 18 years old. However, not all family members are eligible for the Family Sponsorship Route. Eligible family members include:

• Legal partner. This may be a wife or husband.

The Start-up Visa Program is for applicants who wish to migrate to Canada with the aim to start a business.

The student will still need to apply for a visitor’s Visa or Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). The student will be expected to leave within 3 months of graduation from the educational institution.
