  • Provincial nomination (if you have one)

Documents for your application for permanent residence

The province you applied for will contact you via the profile account you created on the Official Canadian Express Entry website. If you’re invited to apply, you’ll need to upload copies of the
documents you used for your profile (see list above). Most applicants
will also need to upload the following:

  • Police certificates
  • Medical exams
  • Proof of funds

After this, you can go ahead to submit your application and wait to be invited to apply.

If you apply coming to Canada as a skilled immigrant, your first step is to submit your profile to the Express Entry pool.

WHEN YOU’RE ELIGIBLE:

  1. You will be placed in a pool with others who are also eligible
  2. You will be given a score and the system will rank you using several factors
  3. You will get an invite to apply to be a permanent resident of Canada (if you’re one of the top candidates)

You can only apply online if you’re sent an invitation to apply.

Note: You may exit the profile at any time. Your information will be saved in your account.
Completing an online Express Entry profile or entering the pool doesn’t
guarantee that you will get invite to apply for permanent residence

You have 60 days to complete and submit your Express Entry profile. Otherwise, you’ll have to start again.

As stated earlier at the start of this guide, you can go ahead to do that here if you have not gone through and fulfilled the previous key requirements that confirms you’re eligible for an Express Entry as that is actually the primary start of the whole journey towards you immigrating to Canada.
