Basically, here is what you need to know about Norwegian Skilled worker list. The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) has published a list of occupations that are in shortage in Norway.The Norway Skilled Visa list is divided into three categories namely:

High priority: Occupations that are experiencing a severe shortage of workers in Norway.

Medium priority: Occupations that are experiencing a moderate shortage of workers in Norway.Low priority: Occupations that are experiencing a mild shortage of workers in Norway. The high priority occupation list includes occupations such as nurses, doctors, dentists, and engineers.

The medium priority occupation list includes occupations such as teachers, IT professionals, and accountants. The low priority occupation list includes occupations such as hotel and restaurant staff, retail staff, and construction workers.

Norway Visa Processing times and fees:

Yes. You can apply for a Norway Work Visa if you meet the requirements below.

• You must have completed your university education, have a vocational training certificate or have other qualifications for the job
• You must have an offer of employment from an employer in Norway
• The job you are offered must be full-time
• You must be more than 18 years old
• The job payment structure must be such that doesn’t pay less than it would pay a citizen of Norway
• You must have no criminal record

You will need the following documents to apply for your Norway Work Visa.

1. Your passport. You should also send copies of all pages already used on your passport

2. The Norway Work Visa Application Form. To have this form, you have to first finish the online application. After that, you will receive the form as a PDF.

You are to print out the form and staple it with your other documents.

3. 2 recently taken passport size photographs. They must have a white background.

4. Proof of your accommodation in Norway. This can be a written rental contract.

However, if you are yet to make arrangements for your place of residence, you can write a letter, explain how you will get a house and where you have in mind. You are to submit this alongside your application.

5. The Offer of Employment Form. This form is for your employer. He/she can get it from the Norway Work Visa (UDI) website.

6. Proof that your salary meets the income requirements. This may be your employment contract that shows the salary you will receive each month.

7. Proof of your academic qualifications. This can be a university certificate, a vocational training award or a diploma.

8. Proof of previous employment experience. This may include the paperwork that shows the places you have worked before, the nature of each work activity, the duration of your employment and your qualifications.

9. Your Curriculum Vitae or Resume.

10. A proof of residence permit (if you reside in a country apart from your home country for 6 months preceding your application).

11. The Power of Attorney Form (if your employer is applying for the Norway Work Visa on your behalf). The form can be obtained from the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) website.

To apply for the Norway Work Visa, you can apply online at the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) site. After applying, you should follow the steps below.

• Submit the completed application form together with the documents yourself at the Embassy or a Visa Application Center.
• If you have already arrived in Norway, you can hand in the documents as well
• You can also send the documents to your employer in Norway (if he/she) wishes to apply for you

A Norway Work Visa costs 6,300 NOK (equivalent to around 690 USD).

When it’s also time to renew your work visa, you will also pay this amount. When you can finish filling out the application on the UDI website, you will have to pay the fees through a debit or credit card.

You should also note that there may be extra charges if you apply via the Visa application centre (and not the Embassy).

After submitting your Norway Work Visa application form, it may take up to 2 months before it is processed.

During the time when you have submitted this application but it has not yet been approved, you are not permitted to resume work, even if you have already arrived in Norway.
