Outline
The prestigious Malcolm Chaikin Foundation Scholarships aim to encourage and support students who wish to study in the fields of Science, Engineering or Commerce/Science at UNSW.
Chaikin scholars are expected to demonstrate leadership and innovation, and make an active contribution to their field of study. Students receive an annual stipend of $15,000 plus access to an academic mentor and invitations to scholar only events.

Eligibility
Eligible Programs for the Malcolm Chaikin Foundation Scholarships:
Malcolm Chaikin Commerce/Science Scholarship: Bachelor of Commerce/Science Program
Malcolm Chaikin Engineering Scholarship: All Engineering programs except for combined Engineering/Law
Malcolm Chaikin Science Scholarship: All Science programs except for Medicine, Optometry, Medical Science. Combined Programs that include an undergraduate program in the Faculty of Science are also eligible
Selection
- Applicants will be assessed on the basis of:
- Academic Merit
- Reasons for undertaking the course
- Personal qualities such as leadership potential
- Potential to contribute to their field of study, the University and the wider community
- Interview Performance
Applicants with expected ATAR over 96, plus outstanding aptitude and potential leadership in their field of study should consider applying.
Interviews
Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview on the 24th or 25th November.
