Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program 2024-24

This scholarship is available for Master’s level students in the field of Multi-Subject, development-related topics taught in Japan, the USA, and Africa Universities.

The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJWBGSP) is being made available for students from developing countries. Interested applicants must have relevant career experience and a history of contributing to the development of their countries.

Once a selected applicant completes his/her study in the host county, he/she must return to his/her home country and use the acquired skills to contribute to its social and economic development.

The level of education covered by the Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship 2024/2024 is the Master’s degree program.

The Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program 2024 covers the following courses.

• Multi-Subject
• Development Related Topics

These courses can be studied in any participating country in the United States, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and Japan.

Any student from a World Bank member developing country can apply for the Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program 2024.

Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Belize, Benin, Bhutan, Bolivia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Botswana, Brazil, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Rep, Chad, Chile, China, Colombia, Comoros, Congo, Costa Rica, Côte d’Ivoire, Croatia, Djibouti, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Arab Rep, Ethiopia, Fiji, Gabon, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Grenada, Guatemala, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Guyana, Haití, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jamaica, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kiribati, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Lao, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Macedonia, and lots more.

The Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program 2024 will provide the following financial aid to the selected students.

1. The tuition fees

2. A monthly living allowance

3. A round-trip airfare

4. Health insurance

5. Travel allowance

Before your scholarship application can be considered for selection, you must meet up with the following requirements. Interested applicants must:

1. Be a national of a World Bank member developing country on this list;
2. Not hold dual citizenship of any developed country;
3. Be in good health;
4. Hold a Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree earned at least 3 years before the Application Deadline date;
5. Have 3 years or more of recent development-related work experience after earning a Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree;
6. Be employed in development-related work in a paid full-time position at the time of submitting the scholarship application. Have at least 3 years of paid development-related employment since earning a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent university degree) and acquired within the past 6 years from the date of the Application Deadline. Please see FAQs on how to count qualified part-time employment toward this 3-year requirement. Please see Annex 2 of the Application Guidelines for a suggested list of development-related topics. The only exception to this criterion is for developing country nationals from a country that is on the list of Fragile and Conflict States featured in Annex 3 of the Application Guidelines. In these exceptional cases, we do take into consideration the limited employment opportunities in those countries listed in Annex 3.
7. On or before the Scholarship Application Deadline date, be admitted unconditionally (except for funding) for the upcoming academic year to at least one of the JJ/WBGSP participating master’s programs located outside of the applicant’s country of citizenship and country of residence listed at the time the call for scholarship applications opens. 8. Not be an Executive Director, his/her alternate, and/or staff of any type of appointment of the World Bank Group or a close relative of the aforementioned by blood or adoption with the term “close relative” defined as Mother, Father, Sister, Half-sister, Brother, Half-brother, Son, Daughter, Aunt, Uncle, Niece, or Nephew.
