However, there are rules guiding applicants concerning the filling of courses.
Chevening Scholarships requires all applicants to select 3 courses of their choice. This is to ensure you have a good chance of being selected. If, for some reason, your first course was not selected, there are still chances that your second or third course will be.
It is advisable to select 3 different courses under 3 different universities. Kindly note that to increase your chances of being selected, the chosen courses should have some similarities. That way, the scholarship board will know your career goals and approve your second or third choice for fully funded financial aid.

Other Things To Know About Courses Eligible For Chevening Scholarships 2024 / 2024
- Your course program must be based on a full-time study schedule.
- Your course program should commence in the autumn term. This usually falls around the months of September and October every year.
- Your course program should be purely Master’s. It can’t be PhD or DPhil.
- Your course must be such that will award you a master’s degree qualification at the end of the study.
- Your course must be taught and learnt within the United Kingdom. Distance learning is not allowed at Chevening Scholarships, although it’s permitted on rare occasions but it must not be more than a month.
- The duration of your study must be more than 9 months.
- The duration of your master’s degree program must not be longer than 1 month. If your course or field is such that requires more than 12 months, you won’t be considered for the Chevening Scholarships.
Eligibility Requirements For Chevening Scholarships 2024/2024
To be selected for the Chevening Scholarships, you have to ensure you meet all the requirements that are listed below.
- First of all, you must be a citizen of a country that is eligible for Chevening Scholarships.
- You must consent to an agreement that requires you to return back to your home country for a minimum of 2 years after your scholarship is over.
- You must have upper second-class 2:1 honours in your bachelor’s degree. However, this might be less strict, depending on the University of your choice.
- You must have applied to three different eligible universities within the UK. Also, you must have been offered an unconditional admission offer from at least one of these choices.
- You must have a minimum of 2 years of work experience (about 2,800 hours).
You Are Not Eligible For A Chevening Scholarship If Any Of These Conditions Apply To You
- If you are a British national, you are not eligible for Chevening Scholarships. Also, if you hold a dual British citizenship, you are ineligible.
- If you are a refugee in a country that is ineligible for Chevening Scholarships, then you are not eligible.
- You are not qualified if you are an employee, a former employee, or a family member of an employee of Her Majesty’s Government (Queen of England).
- You are eligible if you are an employee, former employee, or family member of an employee of Chevening Partner organisations. However, you are not eligible if your employment was secured within the past 2 years.
- You are unqualified for the Chevening Scholarships 2024 / 2024 if you previously had an education in the United Kingdom and you recieved financial aid from a Government-funded scholarship.
